Today is cloudy, windy, cold, and wet.  It rained a little last night.  It's been spitting off and on today.

I fed the birds.  I've seen a pair of house finches and a mourning dove.  Can't say I blame the rest for hiding though.

Downside: It's no kind of day for yardening.

Upside: It's a beautiful day for writing, which I desperately need to do.

EDIT 4/30/23 -- I saw a male cardinal in the forest garden.

Today is partly sunny, breezy, and mild.

I fed the birds. Not much activity today; I've only seen a few sparrows.

We picked up three piles of grass in the south lot.

EDIT 4/29/23 -- I dug weeds out of the septic garden.

Today is sunny and warm. It never did rain last night. :/ It's a rather dry spring here, which does not bode well for summer.

Before lunch, I hauled water to the two patches of seed that I sowed yesterday.

After lunch, I fed the birds. I've seen several sparrows, two blue jays, a male cardinal, a robin, and a brown thrasher.

I planted the round-leaved dogwood in the forest yard near the driveway. It's covered but I still need to mulch and water it.

EDIT 4/28/23 -- I mulched and watered the round-leaved dogwood.

I've seen a pair of cardinals in the forest garden.

EDIT 4/28/23 -- I planted the pagoda dogwood along the north edge of the savanna. It's covered but I still need to mulch and water it.

EDIT 4/28/23 -- I planted the downy serviceberry along the north edge of the savanna, and covered it. Then I mulched that and the pagoda dogwood, and watered both.

This concludes planting from the Prairie Moon order.

As it is now dark, I am done for the night.

Today is cloudy and mild.

I fed the birds. I've seen a flock of sparrows, a brown-headed cowbird, a mourning dove, and several fox squirrels at the hopper feeder or around the yard.

I started clearing sticks from the strip between the forest yard and the street. I didn't get very far before filling the trolley. :/

EDIT 4/25/23 -- I planted 2 nodding onions in the wildflower garden.

EDIT 4/25/23 -- I planted the pussy willow along the west edge of the yard. I got that covered and mulched, and watered it and the nodding onions.

As it is now dark, I am done for the night.

Three Weeks for Dreamwidth runs April 25-May 15. During this time, people post content only visible on Dreamwidth (although it can be reposted elsewhere after the event ends). There's usually a flurry of activity as bloggers share anchor posts, new fiction, icons, banners, questionnaires, friending fests, memes, and other goodies. Community hosts often hold special activities in their communities too. Watch your reading page for more festivities.

This year, I'll be posting about birds in honor of [community profile] birdfeeding. Last year, I featured hippies. If you are new to this community, we have an Introduction tag and questionnaire that you can use to tell us about yourself.

I also made a blogging questionnaire last year, which people are welcome to use. I'm going to post that on [community profile] twitter_refugees for the folks who haven't seen it before.
