first robin of spring
Mar. 10th, 2023 05:40 pmI saw a female robin this afternoon, while I was walking near my home.
Our birdfeeder has been getting at least one chickadee and some woodpeckers, plus at least a few mourning doves and a small crowd of sparrows.
The chickadee flies over, grabs a seed, flies off to eat it, and comes back for seconds. The woodpeckers seem to be doing something similar, and the sparrows show up in slightly larger numbers than there are openings in the birdfeeder.

Chickadees are so cute. What kind of woodpeckers?

Yeah, my downy woodpeckers are really prone to grab one seed at a time. The suet feeder, they're more inclined to hang there for several minutes eating.
