Birds

My first bird of 2026 was a Cardinal on Cape Cod, on a brief New Year's getaway. I also saw a Crow but not much else. I'm back home now with usual mix of Blue Jays, House Sparrows and Mourning Doves.

We received another small amount snow New year's Eve and New Year's Day followed by another cold front. It's supposed to warm up by the end of next week.

Today is partly sunny and cool.

I fed the birds.  I've seen a large flock of sparrows.

I put out water for the birds.

EDIT 1/3/25 -- I filled a trolley with sticks from the brushpile beside the driveway, then dumped that in the firepit.

I saw a flock of mourning doves in the ritual meadow.

As it is getting dark, I am done for the night.  It's 4:50 and still twilight, a big improvement over 4:30!

Birdwatching 02/01

It is snowy and cold here in Tallinn, Estonia.

Yesterday, 02/01:

Saw and heard one very active hooded crow.

They are quite present in the area I live, but I had not ventured outside for some time.
