Birdfeeding

birdfeedingToday is sunny and utterly broiling. The heat index is 109°F. O_O
I fed the birds. Hopper feeder was almost empty but I've seen no activity today. Can't blame the critters for hiding.
EDIT 8/24/23 -- I put out water for the birds and watered some plants.
A couple of tiny sunflowers are blooming in the septic garden. So are the garlic chives. My blue-winged wasps and double-banded scoliid wasps are all over the garlic flowers. :D They parasitize the larvae of scarab beetles such as june bugs and Japanese beetles. Fly, my pretties, fly!
EDIT 8/24/23 -- I watered the telephone pole garden, wildflower garden, notch in the prairie garden, tulip bed and its grass patch.
Cicadas are singing.
As it is now dark, I am done for the night.
