Birdfeeding

Today is sunny, steamy, and hot.

I fed the birds.  I've seen several house finches and a fox squirrel.

The second sunflower in the septic garden is just starting to open, with one petal popped out.  :D

EDIT 8/11/23 -- I put out water for the birds and watered a few plants.

EDIT 8/11/23 -- I walked around the yard.  Partridge pea is blooming in the notch of the prairie garden.

EDIT 8/11/23 -- I watered the septic garden, since some of the plants were wanting to wilt despite yesterday's rain.

A goldfinch has been eating on the immature seeds of my little sunflowers. I've seen him 3 times.

Actually pecking out the seeds, or hunting for insects? Are you seeing gaps in the head?

The seeds at the top are all missing. He's sitting on the top and leaning down.
