Birdfeeding
Jul. 23rd, 2023 02:50 pmToday is mostly sunny and hot.
I fed the birds. I've seen a few house finches.
The plan was to mow, so we looked at the prairie garden together, but then the mower wouldn't go. :/
EDIT 7/23/23 -- I put out water for the birds and watered a few plants. I picked 4 cherry tomatoes.
EDIT 7/23/23 -- The weather has cooled off enough that I did some branch trimming in the savanna.
EDIT 7/23/23 -- I watered the septic garden and the plants in the yard by the house.
The purple basil is blooming with tiny, very tasty lavender blossoms. Many herbs have flowers that I like to pick off and eat.
EDIT 7/23/23 -- I watered the telephone pole garden, wildflower garden, and notch in the prairie patch.
Some new cornfield is tasseling. The ones near us went off earlier, so the smell has been fading. Tonight it's strong and heavy again, a rich golden scent like hot butter melting on cornbread.
Clouds are towering up to the west. There's a chance of thunderstorms, so I'm hopeful; we could sure use the rain.
