Birdfeeding
Jun. 26th, 2023 04:47 pmToday is partly sunny, breezy, and warm.
I fed the birds. I've seen a flock of house finches.
EDIT 6/26/23 -- I put out water for the birds and watered a few plants.
EDIT 6/26/23 -- A late plant arrived, Annabelle Hydrangea. I cleared a place to plant it in a row of flowering shrubs in the yard by the house.
EDIT 6/26/23 -- I planted the hydrangea and watered it in.
EDIT 6/26/23 -- I picked a third of a bag of mulberries along the east and south sides of the yard. Production is winding down.
Purple echinacea and something that looks like a giant, wild bergamot are blooming in the wildflower garden. Cosmos are blooming in the notch of the prairie garden. Blackberries are ripening. Black raspberries are almost done.
EDIT 6/26/23 -- I watered a few plants.
I cleaned up after last night's fireworks. There wasn't much mess, just a few bits of scattered paper and the pile of char left by the Amazing Bad Ass. I found an old fast food container, scraped the char into that, then bagged it for disposal. I also picked up the two concrete pavers. Surprisingly, the grass underneath was still green, with only a few charred spots where the fire spilled over.
6/26/23 -- I hauled a load of cut brush to the ritual meadow.
6/26/23 -- I hauled another load of cut brush to the ritual meadow.
6/26/23 -- I hauled another load of cut brush to the ritual meadow. That's the last of the walnut trimmings from the south lot.
EDIT 6/26/23 -- I watered the tulip bed and its grass notch.

Fireflies are coming out.
As it is getting dark, I am done for the night.
