World Shorebirds Day

[ysabetwordsmith]

Today is World Shorebirds Day. This honors all birds who favor marginal habitat. If you live near waterfront, they're easy to find. But even inland, you'll see some waders like killdeer in shallow marshes or fields or ditches, and herons or pelicans will come to lakes.  We often see egrets out following cows in pasture!
