Birdfeeding
Apr. 22nd, 2023 03:26 pmToday is cloudy, windy, and cold.
I haven't fed the birds yet but have seen plenty. There's a flock of sparrows, two blue jays, a male cardinal, a male house finch, and a brown thrasher. Then there's a small, solid red bird that is not a cardinal. The closest match I've found is a summer tanager, but they are not supposed to visit feeders and this one was on the hopper feeder.

EDIT 4/22/23 -- I fed the birds. I've seen a mourning dove.
EDIT 4/22/23 -- We picked up sticks around the birdgift tree, filling the dumpster, which we emptied by the former mulch pile. We also broke up much of the big dead branch that used to hold my upside-down suet feeder, so now I need to look for a new place to hang that. My partner Doug is out mowing.
