Birdfeeding

Today is cloudy, cold, and wet.  It rained off and on last night.  Today it's just spitting occasionally.

I fed the birds.  I've seen a flock of sparrows, several mourning doves, several house finches, and a fox squirrel.  

Pear blossoms are mostly done, cherries and crabapples open, lilacs are starting too.  Celadine poppy was open yesterday but closed today due to the weather.  Tulips are closed too, but I have a good array of them this year.

Not much of a gardner (okay, at all), but I've also thought it was so incredibly neat that plants can do this! :)

Plants are smarter than most people realize. They can perceive light and temperature. They know when something is trying to eat them, so they release discouraging chemicals and also notify other plants.
