Funny, I just identified that sparrow the other day. I saw another unidentified sparrowish bird today, but I didn't get a photo.

I often have a mix of song sparrows and house sparrows, plus house finches, who travel in mixed flocks. Occasionally I see a white-crowned sparrow or something else -- some of the other species look familiar.

All the little birds come and go. I can never tell if any are flocking together. The mixed blackbirds seem to hang out together, though. Today I had red-winged blackbirds and a grackle. Soon a couple of starlings joined them, and even a cowbird. First time this year I'd see either of the latter two.
