Birdfeeding
Apr. 7th, 2023 04:33 pmToday is sunny and mild.
I fed the birds. I've seen a flock of sparrows, a pair of cardinals, a pair of house finches, a dark-eyed junco, a robin, and a fox squirrel.
I finally got around to digging up some of the sunchokes in the path. I think I dug up about a pound, including some quite large roots and small ones that I plan to replant elsewhere. This was from one plant, before I got tired, and I don't think I even found all its tubers. These are white ones -- I planted white and red -- nice and smooth. :D They are the escaped agricultural crops of ancient civilizations, which have recently been brought back into cultivation.
EDIT 4/7/23 -- I picked up and replaced some jugs that had blown off.

EDIT 4/7/23 -- I got the large tubers partly rinsed off.
EDIT 4/7/23 -- I replanted the smallest tubers in the prairie garden.
