Birdfeeding
Apr. 6th, 2023 02:56 pmToday is cloudy and cool.
I haven't fed the birds yet, but I've seen plenty: a flock of sparrows, several house finches, a pair of cardinals, a starling, and a brown thrasher.
I walked around the yard taking pictures. Daffodils are being pesky this year: lots of leaves, not as many flowers, and the new ones seem to be all plain yellow rather than the variety they should've been. :/ Also most of the flowers are flopping over. The grape hyacinths are blooming, though, and I saw the first of the tulip buds today. :D The first dandelions are blooming too.
EDIT 4/6/23 -- I fed the birds.
I planted the 3 peonies from yesterday's Burgess package under the apricot tree.
EDIT 4/6/23 -- I planted the white feather hosta in the forest garden and the red daisy in the septic garden.
EDIT 4/6/23 -- I planted the 8 lilies around the telephone pole garden.
That's the end of what can be planted now. The gladioli are tender bulbs so they need to wait until late April or May for planting.
EDIT 4/6/23 -- I mulched around a couple of previous seedlings.
EDIT 4/6/23 -- I scooped up fallen sunflower seeds and scattered them around the prairie garden.
