In my yard I get mainly mourning doves, but some nearby farms have flocks of pigeons. I enjoy watching them wheel through the air, mostly shades of gray or brown, then a flash of white wings. :D
I love a good white/brown/mix pigeon, they're so pretty. When I get a phone with a working camera, I will try to take more photos of birds, it's a nice activity. Also when it gets warmer, it means even more pigeons!
That's a good idea. Some are really good at wildlife pictures, so if you actively plan to use your phone as a camera, look for ones designed for that.
Also, there are various bird apps for identifying birds or doing other things. Some will build a post for you to share -- Merlin does that, and we've had a few folks post theirs here.
