We did receive a minor 3 inch snow storm Friday night into Saturday.

The result was a bonanza of birds at the feeders both Saturday and Sunday - A large flock of Sparrows and Dark eyed Juncos, Blue Jays, Cardinals, Tufted Titmouse, Carolina Wren, Downy and Red bellied Woodpeckers and a Robin.

I love how birds swarm a feeder after a snow, or on a really cold day. Earlier this day I saw them trying to cram like 8 on one side of the hopper, when on a nice day they're lucky to fit 2 without squabbling. I didn't think it was all that cold but they looked pretty desperate. More often in winter I'll talk about "3-bird-cold," "4-bird-cold," etc.
