busy birds

The birds are active today. There was a fair sized flock of house finches flying back and forth between a small three and the feeders. Also sparrows, cardinals and a red-bellied woodpecker. Later there were chickadees, goldfinches, juncos and mourning doves. And I just saw a red-breasted nuthatch in the yard for the first time.

Yay!

I haven't seen the red-breasted nuthatches, only the gray-and-white kind. Sounds pretty!

Apparently they cover most of North America.

But yeah, some birds do way better in urban habitats than others. Many cliff-nesters do if they're not edge-shy.
