Birdfeeding

Today is sunny and cool.

I fed the birds.  I've seen a few sparrows and house finches.  Some birds are singing in the south hedge.

I put out water for the birds.

EDIT 12/21/25 -- I did a bit of work around the patio.

I've been keeping my bird feeders filled. For some reason the ones in the south end of my yard are still full from the last time I filled them - I'm not sure why the birds are going to less these days. Usually they get emptied out like the rest around my yard. It has me a bit confused.

Sounds like a non-obvious variable. That could be wind flow, a change in someone else's yard, a predator like a fox or an owl favoring that area, etc.

I've seen the effects in my yard when things changed outside it. In town, there are a lot more variables because of so many houses packed together.
