oh deer

We had a deer at the feeder last night. First I saw her nosing the feeder, then she seemed to be hoovering up the seed on the ground.

We had 2 deer Saturday morning, they seem to be active this week. I saw another local post with quite a few deer in someone's yard.

Yesterday my wife was in a nearby small town, and two deer walked right up the sidewalk on Main Street, in the middle of the day.

That seems more likely in a very small town, or one in a heavily forested or mountainous area with lots of deer. Sometimes they come in suburbs though. There's a few areas near us where they appear often, and another area we drive through toward Marshall. I've even seen them in our yard a few times, because it's a mix of wooded and open areas amidst farmland. If the weather's bad, there isn't much cover left out here, so they head for the yards with lots of trees.

There have been two sheep roaming this part of the county for the last month or so. Nobody knows where they came from. I first heard of them out in the country, but I just saw a video them not far from where my wife saw the deer in town.
