Today is cloudy and chilly. It rained for a good while last night.
I fed the birds. I put out a new peanut suet cake. I've seen a fox squirrel at the hopper feeder.
I put out water for the birds.
EDIT 12/18/24 -- My partner Doug ran the weedwhacker over the area where we'll be planting the holly bush.
Then we cut back nearby brush.
EDIT 12/18/24 -- I did a bit of work around the patio.
I've seen two large flocks of sparrows simultaneously (at the hopper feeder in the forest garden, and the fly-through feeder and suet cage south of the house), a male cardinal, a tufted titmouse, and a goldfinch. :D
EDIT 12/18/24 -- I hauled the cut brush to throw on the brush pile in the ritual meadow. Doug raked the trimmed grass, so that pile needs to be hauled away too.
I've seen a female cardinal at the fly-through feeder and two mourning doves in the forest garden.
EDIT 12/18/24 -- I hauled the pile of raked stuff to the grass wall.
I am done for the night.
