Birdfeeding
Dec. 2nd, 2024 03:14 pmToday is cloudy and cold. It's been snowing off and on, a fine light dusting that's just beginning to layer into more than frosting.
I fed the birds. I've seen a mixed flock of sparrows and house finches, a flock of at least 10 starlings, a lady cardinal, and a goldfinch.
I put out water for the birds. I startled a flock of mourning doves.
EDIT 12/2/24 -- I did a bit of work around the patio.
I've seen a female downy woodpecker at the suet cage. I heard a tufted titmouse but didn't see it.
I sprinkled ice-melt on the patio.
I am done for the night.
EDIT 12/2/24 -- At some point, the snow turned from dust to actual flakes. Now everything is sparkly. :D
