Today is cloudy and mild. It's been drizzling off and on -- not a lot, but enough that I shouldn't need to water most things. I'll have to check what's under trees.
I fed the birds. I've seen a flock of house finches, a mourning dove, and a fox squirrel.
EDIT 9/22/24 -- I watered the seedlings in the savanna. Nothing else seems to need it today.
The sky is full of many different clouds. There are broad sheets of gray stratocumulus, high thin wisps of cirrostratus and cirrus, some tufts too small to identify easily, and to the south, a long line of tall fluffy white cumulus some of which aspire to cumulonimbus. To the north and east are banks of clouds in dark blue-gray.
The soybean field to the west is ripe. Backlit by the sinking sun, their many hairs catch the light to create halos around each plant, and the whole field shimmers faintly. Today is too hazy to create the shining path of gold that sometimes appears, but the shimmer is still pretty.
EDIT 9/22/24 -- I did a bit of work around the patio.
As it is getting dark, I am done for the night.
