BALD EAGLES!
Feb. 4th, 2023 06:33 pmToday we went up to visit my father. Weather is cold and partly sunny.
On the way up, we saw a bald eagle! :D 3q3q3q!!! This was pretty far from home, so likely not the pair I saw recently over my yard. This is the first time I've seen eagles twice in a week outside of places like the Mississippi River. I am so happy that they're moving back into central Illinois.
We also saw many flocks of geese flying about. They're mostly moving north at this time.
I saw a few deer beside the road too.

Date: 2023-02-08 03:55 am (UTC)When I was little, I think the only time we saw bald eagles was right on the Mississippi River while traveling, and not often even then. Or farther west, a few times. It's been in the last, hmm, 5-10 years that I've seen them around here, slowly increasing over time.
