Birdfeeding
Jul. 20th, 2024 01:49 pmToday is partly cloudy.
I haven't fed the birds yet, but I've seen several house finches.
EDIT 7/20/24 -- We put the picnic table back on the ground.
EDIT 7/20/24 -- I fed the birds. I've seen a larger flock of house finches, and a squirrel gnawing the corncob in the forest garden.
EDIT 7/20/24 -- I used the rest of the can of water sealer on the picnic table. \o/ I think I want to get a second can and go over it again.
A white gladiolus is blooming in the septic garden. :D
EDIT 7/20/24 -- I checked the picnic table, which is dry to the touch again. Tomorrow I'll drip a bit of water on it and see if that beads properly, before deciding whether it needs more sealer.
I put out water for the birds and watered a few plants. The honeybees had actually drained the metal birdbath.
EDIT 7/20/24 -- I walked around the yard a bit. At least one gladiolus in the telephone pole garden is putting up flower buds.
I saw a bat flying around the perimeter of the yard.
The moon is rising a deep pinkish-orange.
Fireflies are coming out. Cicadas are singing.
As it is now dark, I am done for the night.
