Birdfeeding

Today is mostly cloudy and hot, it's 80°F outside.

I fed the birds. I haven't seen much activity today.

I put out water for the birds.

We drilled drain holes in the two big plastic pots that I bought yesterday.

Cicadas continue to emerge. The first of them are singing!

EDIT 5/18/24 -- I planted a purple basil and sowed basil grex seeds in one of the big purple pots from yesterday.

EDIT 5/18/24 -- I planted 4 'Pink Passion' moss roses and 4 white lobelia in the other big purple pot.

A hummingbird zoomed past my head, presumably a ruby-throated hummingbird.

EDIT 5/18/24 -- I planted the last three marigolds in various pots and the nasturtium in one of the big rust-colored pots.

I saw a black swallowtail butterfly and several bumblebees on the bergamot.  Honeybees keep drinking from the birdbath.

EDIT 5/18/24 -- I planted sorrel in the other rust-colored pot and lady's mantle in the strip garden.  Then I watered the plants still in pots and the newly planted things.

EDIT 5/18/24 -- I sowed Johnny jump-up seeds in a pot on the patio, and 'Gleam' nasturtiums around the plant.

EDIT 5/18/24 -- I planted sorrel in the cistern herb garden.

I've seen a mourning dove in the fly-through feeder.

EDIT 5/18/24 -- We hauled multiple piles of grass to the grass wall.

EDIT 5/18/24 -- I planted chives in the septic garden.

I watered plants in the septic garden and patio.

As it is getting dark, I am done for the night.
