Birdfeeding
Apr. 17th, 2024 03:13 pmToday is sunny, breezy, and warm. It drizzled a bit last night, but mostly we got lots of thunder and lightning with little output.
I haven't fed the birds yet, or even seen any.
I planted a 'Red Charm' peony under the fly-through feeder, covered and labeled it, then heaped mulch around the jug.

EDIT 4/17/24 -- I fed the birds. I've seen a sparrow.
I put out water for the birds.
I watered the new peony and a few other plants.
EDIT 4/17/24 -- I started digging a hole for the double mock orange.
I've seen a female house finch.
EDIT 4/17/24 -- I planted the double mock orange, labeled it, and mulched it. The thing is actually too big for a jug, so it'll have to fend for itself against rabbits.
EDIT 4/17/24 -- I planted two Virginia bluebells in the forest garden and mulched them.
Some of the bleeding hearts that I planted earlier are starting to sprout. :D
EDIT 4/17/24 -- I planted the purple prairie trillium in the forest garden. This concludes the planting of the order from Spring Hill. I am so pleased that I finished the whole box in one day! \o/
I've seen a male house finch and a fox squirrel.
EDIT 4/17/24 -- I watered the newly planted things.
EDIT 4/17/24 -- I cut brush along the north edge of the ritual meadow.
As it is now dark, I am done for the night.
