Birdfeeding

Today is cloudy and cold.

I've seen a flock of sparrows in the forest garden, but haven't gotten outside to feed them yet.

My sparrows and other regulars were missing most of the day. Only started coming back later in the afternoon, but more subdued than usual. I kept looking around for hawks or some other big bird, didn't see one.

Mine often prefer to forage when the weather is tolerable. After all, I have filled the yard with things that birds like to eat. But if it's cold or snowy, they are more likely to take the easy food from the feeders.

That was the weird thing about it - was a sort of crappy day. And everyone was gone or quiet. Yesterday back in full force despite it being 50 degrees and pretty nice.
