Birdfeeding

Today is sunny and quite warm with a light breeze.  :D

I haven't fed the birds yet, but I've seen a grackle and Nipple Squirrel.

There's also a tractor plowing a field northwest of us.

I sowed Shithouse Marigolds in the giant pot by the septic garden and took pictures of the process.

EDIT 4/14/24 -- I fed the birds.  I've seen a male house finch.  I've heard red-winged blackbirds calling but haven't seen them.

I put out water for the birds and watered a few plants.  One of the bleeding hearts has sprouted.  \o/

EDIT 4/14/24 -- I watered the marigold seeds, so that project is done (at least for that pot, I still have the second one to do).

EDIT 4/14/24 -- I trimmed around the goddess garden near the corner of the house.  Mother-of-thyme has spread out into the grass, which is fine.

The air smells strongly of lilacs, spreading themselves open on the warm spring wind.

EDIT 4/14/24 -- I started digging weeds, grass, and extraneous wild violets out of the goddess garden, insofar as I can extract them where they are not too tangled with other things.

EDIT 4/14/24 -- I continued digging in the goddess garden.
 
EDIT 4/14/24 -- I continued digging in the goddess garden, and it's ready to re-install the statue.  Progress!

EDIT 4/14/24 -- I put the goddess statue in the garden.  \o/
 
There are tracks all around the shrinking puddles, mostly birds, but I think some are raccoon.

As it is getting dark, I am done for the night.
