Birdfeeding

Today is partly cloudy and mild.

I fed the birds.  I've seen a mixed flock of grackles and brown-headed cowbirds and later a flock of house finches.

My tulips are blooming!  Lots of the color-changing ones  are open now, that start with an edge of purple on white or orange on yellow and then spreads.  Some of the black ruffled ones are open.  Many are open in the purple-and-white garden now.  :D

We drilled holes in the giant pots.  While doing this, I noticed that one of the honeysuckle twigs that I used to pin a cover over a flower trough has sprouted.  0_o

I built the core of the next fire in the firepit.  So today's main task will be picking up the larger branches in the house yard.

EDIT 4/9/24 -- I started picking up branches and broke them down for the firepit.

Cherries are in full bloom in the orchard.

EDIT 4/9/24 -- I picked up more branches and put them in the firepit.  I think I have enough of the bigger stuff cleared that I can grab the garden trolley and switch to the smaller sticks.

EDIT 4/9/24 -- I picked up a trolley of sticks in the house yard and dumped it in the firepit.

Lilacs are starting to bloom in the yard by the house.  :D

I heard a blue jay screaming but didn't see it.
