Birdfeeding

Today is sunny, mild, and calm. 

I haven't fed the birds yet, but I've seen a mixed flock of sparrows and house finches, a mourning dove, and a dark-eyed junco.  I heard a squirrel chattering but didn't see it.

I walked around the yard taking pictures.   Tulips are open!  Violets are everywhere.  Cherry trees are beginning to bloom, and so are redbuds.  Spruce trees are blooming and releasing pollen.  The yard is so full of bees, of many kinds, that everywhere is a soft background buzz.  :D

EDIT 4/6/24 -- I fed the birds.  It finally occurred to me to shell a cob of corn into the fly-through feeder, since the wildlife hasn't shown great interest in pulling it off the cob this year.

I'm working under the overhang again today.  I got down and used a trowel to dig out the leaf litter packed into the corner.

EDIT 4/6/24 -- I got the inside corner pretty well swept out and started on the middle.

EDIT 4/6/24 -- I got most of the middle swept out.

EDIT 4/6/24 -- I finished sweeping the porch under the overhang.  \o/

EDIT 4/6/24 -- I did a bit  more pickup on the porch and swept up after that.

I heard a gray catbird in the trees but didn't see it.

EDIT 4/6/24 -- I cut brush in the ritual meadow.

As it is getting dark, I am done for the night.
