Birdfeeding

Today is cloudy, cold, and howling wind.  There have been brief splatters of frigid rain, not much volume, just enough to make spots on the patio and wet down the plants.  A beautiful day to stay indoors and write!

I fed the birds.  I've seen a big flock of house finches and sparrows, a mourning dove, and a female fox squirrel with visible nipples (likely with a litter of kits somewhere).

Tulips are shut tight against the cold.  Bluebells are still going though.  The celandine poppy has fuzzy little flowerbuds.
