Feathers are fascinating. I've seen some that had 5-6 colors on one feather just ... because. I'm also interested in the properties of different types of feathers (e.g. pinions, body feathers, down). I write about some characters who have feathers and/or wings.

Yes, those truly are a beauty! There really is much to know about so many different features on a bird. From the beaks to the feet...!
