Yard Pictures: Snow in Midwinter Grove

Here are some pictures of my yard from Friday, January 21, 2024 when it snowed. Most of these come from the Midwinter Grove or thereabouts.


This is the view looking south along the road, with snow blowing across it.  Open prairie gives the wind a lot of headway, and the snow likes to go along for the ride.


The white garden stands at the southwest corner of the driveway.  The green spikes belong to a cluster of several yucca plants.


The wagonwheel garden stands at the northwest corner of the driveway.


The Midwinter Grove lies just north of the driveway.  It includes a bunch of yew bushes, a pine tree, several spruces, and a new Colorado blue spruce.  This is one of the major shelters for birds and other wildlife.  They love hiding in all those evergreens.


This is a closeup of snow on yew bushes.


This is a closeup of snow on spruce boughs.


Here are the daffodil bed and the tulip bed under a blanket of snow.  They lie between the Midwinter Grove and the parking lot.
