"The Boy Who Built Bird Feeders"
[Friday, March 31, 2023]
Adam Song felt bad about
the way the world was going,
because it was so hard on
birds and other wildlife.
Whenever he felt bad
about that, he went out
to the family workshop
and built a bird feeder.
Adam had learned how
to make them in shop class.
He built window feeders and
hanging feeders and ground feeders,
wine bottle feeders and mason jar feeders,
and big fancy fly-through gazebos.
He scavenged wood from pallets
and old falling-down fences and
scraps from the lumberyard.
Adam even built bird houses,
so they'd have somewhere to stay.
He built so many things for birds
that he filled up the yard, and
had to start giving them away.
All around his neighborhood,
wherever you looked there were
bird feeders and bird houses.
Every time the birds sang,
it made him smile a little more.
He couldn't make everything better,
but he sure could make a difference.

Notes:
Adam Song -- He has fair skin, brown eyes, and short brown hair. He is tall and sturdy. He is 13 years old in 2023. Adam builds bird feeders and bird houses to cope with feeling bad about environmental issues. Some he puts up in his yard; others he gives away.
These are some of Adam Song's birdfeeders. See the plans for them.
