>> I literally just got a camera bird feeder for Christmas from my spouse! <<

That's exciting!

>>Also like 5 deer eating at the bottom of my feeder.<<

Yeah, they'll do that, but sometimes it's bad for them, especially if there's corn in the mix. Deer have a bifocal digestive system, they eat rich green stuff in summer and dry stuff like buds and bark in winter, with different processes and microbiome for each. Too much rich food can make them sick or even kill them in winter, but deer are dumb and lazy and love the hell out of corn. 0_o

>> And for awhile squirrels took over, but I put a cone underneath the bird feeder and haven't seen them since. <<

Good solution.

>> LOVE birds. I used to own finches, parakeets, a ringneck dove, lovebirds. I don't have any birds currently because I have a cat and will have a dog, but my new bird feeder is kind how I can get my bird love in now! <<

Oh, that's cool.

>>Pretty big for suburbia. I have about half an acre behind my house, and a small woods inbetween back neighbors and I. Deer often mosey into my backyard.<<

Awesome, that should net you a lot of different birds.

>>Nothing. I just set up the bird feeder last week. They seem to have found it!<<

Feeding them counts, and will definitely attract them. In fact a week is fast for coming to a feeder. If I take mine down in summer because there's no activity, then it often takes 2-3 weeks in fall after refilling before the birds really get back to it regularly. That means you probably have a high density of birds and they're motivated to search for new food sources.
