last week I saw an indigo bunting sitting on the top of the shepherd's hook that the feeders are on. It flew before I could get a photo. I've only seen those once or twice in the yard. Later in the day I saw a flash of blue again, but that time it was a bluebird. Those are not as rare, but still uncommon.
Later, I saw the silhouette or a bird, way out at the compost bin, that looked like a grey catbird. Today I was out there, and sure enough, it was a grey catbird.
Otherwise, right now we have mostly only finches, house and gold.
Also, a couple of miles away, on Lake Michigan, I saw pelicans. Never saw those there before.

We saw them once at a lake near here.

I know they're on Lake Winnebago, but if I've seen them there, they were only white specks in the distance. And there are many in Horicon Marsh, but the one time I was there it was too early in the season, I guess.
