I was out before 7am a week ago Thursday, so the sun was on the bluff, and the swallows were lit up so I could get some decent photos. Click to go to the Flickr page, and then click again to embiggen.

I thought they were cliff swallows, but after looking it up, I believe they're bank swallows. Cliff swallows build their nests of mud, while bank swallows dig their nests. These are in clay bluffs, rising over the shore of Lake Michigan in SE Wisconsin.

Earlier this week, I went over to the lake again, and on the way, I saw a turkey, a pair of sandhill cranes, and a small flock of Canada geese. In the park, the only bird I could name was a flicker. There were several more LBBs.
