Birdfeeding

Today is mostly sunny and chilly, but the ice is melting.

I fed the birds.  I've seen a large flock of sparrows, a large flock of starlings, a flock of mourning doves, and a male cardinal.

I put out water for the birds.

EDIT 2/22/25 -- I filled 12 pots with potting soil.  These are somewhat bigger than the previous ones.

EDIT 2/22/25 -- I did a bit of work around the patio.

I put out more seed and water for the birds.  They're going through it fast today.

EDIT 2/22/25 -- I sowed 6 pots of blue wild indigo and 6 pots of yellow wild indigo.  They are nitrogen fixers and thus make a great addition to permaculture guilds.  I rarely worry about this role in a guild because I have clovers throughout most of my yard.  However, diversity is strength, so it's nice to have more options just in case something whelms the clovers.
