Birdfeeding

Today is partly sunny and cool.

I fed the birds. I've seen a flock of sparrows, two mourning doves, a starling, a robin, a female downy woodpecker, and a fox squirrel.

White crocus have buds in the rain garden but aren't open yet, same with the orange ones in the goddess garden. Some daffodils have buds too.

Sleeting here right now. Just saw a robin eating the spilled bits under the suet feeder.

Sleet, ugh.

Here my birds scavenge under the hopper feeder, but rarely under the suet feeder.

Starlings have found the suet feeder and they are a mess. So I'm glad the other birds will eat under. The northern flicker was eating on the ground when I first saw it too.

If you want to discourage starlings, you could always get an upside-down feeder.
