Today is partly cloudy and cold.

I fed the birds.  I've seen a large flock of sparrows, a flock of starlings, a small flock of mourning doves, and a male house finch.

I tried to do a bit of hardware work outdoors, installing a small latch, but the screw failed.  *sigh*  I have found some different screws of the same size so hopefully I can try again later.

EDIT 1/4/25 -- I did a bit of work around the patio.

EDIT 1/4/25 -- I managed to get the old screw out and a new screw ... most of the way in.:/

I've seen a male cardinal.

As it is getting dark, I am done for the night.

EDIT 1/4/25 -- A few minutes after I sat down, my shipment of peanut suet arrived!  So I went back out to add an extra cake for the birds in this cold weather.  That way if the predicted snow arrives (starting in the wee hours of Monday morning) they'll have plenty of high-energy food that is not easily covered by snow.

Here in Ohio we got plenty of snow! I filled my feeders yesterday before this current storm hit. That's nice you took the time to give them some peanut suet you just got! :)
