Birdfeeding

Today is sunny, windy, and mild.
I fed the birds. I've seen a male house finch at the hopper feeder.
I put out water for the birds.
More crocuses are blooming! :D There's a new one in the goddess garden and at least two in the rain garden. I need to start raking off leaves, but I can't do that today because the plan is to assemble the new garden cart.
EDIT 2/28/25 -- We started assembling the Gorilla 9 cubic foot dump cart.
EDIT 2/28/25 -- We finished assembling the cart. It is really well made. The parts are sturdy. The hardware came vacuum-sealed to a card numbered according to the steps of assembly. Note: if you buy one of these, don't overtighten the bolts on the moving parts. We had to loosen the tongue and turn bolts. I noticed that the sides have deep pockets so that a top cage can be added to haul more stuff. Alas, the company does not seem to sell such an accessory. :( On the bright side, all the other parts are available individually so if something should somehow break, it can be repaired. I am a big fan of products designed for repair. \o/ We feel super accomplished for having assembled this thing today. It took the two of us about 2 hours total, which is good for something so big.
EDIT 2/28/25 -- I did a bit of work around the patio.
I measured the new troughs and pots related to the picnic table. I want to find a way of securing them to the benches, although I'm not yet sure exactly what I'll plant where.
My Breck's order has shipped from Holland! :D It will take a while to arrive, so I'm guessing March for that one.
I have a couple of new seed catalogs to look through. I'm excited that Burpee has single-flowered hollyhock roots for sale. I've had little luck growing them from seed for some reason.
I am done for the night.
