Birdfeeding

Today is sunny and cold.
I haven't fed the birds yet. I've seen two mourning doves, a female cardinal, and a downy woodpecker.
I walked around the yard taking pictures. The snow is no longer fresh, but it still sparkles in places, and there are tracks. Icicles are forming in some places overhead. :D
EDIT 1/8/25 -- I fed the birds. I've seen a large flock of sparrows, several starlings, a pair of cardinals, and a tufted titmouse.
I put out water for the bids.
I spread icemelt over a large patch of ice on the patio.

I've seen more sparrows and several cardinals. :D
I am done working outside for the day.

Today the sun came out. The snow is no longer fresh, but now it sparkles, and shadows cast the texture into clear relief. It's a good day for photographing signs of wildlife activity. :D These are from the house yard and along the south side of the house. (See also Midwinter Grove, Savanna, and Back Toward the House.)
