Birdfeeding

Today is cloudy and mild.
I fed the birds. I've seen a flock of sparrows, a flock of at least 10 house finches, a tufted titmouse, a dark-eyed junco, and a robin.
I put out water for the birds and watered a few plants.
EDIT 11/8/24 -- I planted the last of the open bag of mixed daffodils around the maple tree between the house yard and the south lot.
EDIT 11/8/24 -- I gathered seeds from the wildflower garden and planted them around the prairie garden and savanna.
I've seen squirrels leaping overhead and a fox squirrel at the hopper feeder.
EDIT 11/8/24 -- I did a bit of work around the patio.
I put out more food for the birds, including the metal tray feeder and thistle feeder.
EDIT 11/8/24 -- I gathered zinnia seeds to save over winter. It occurred to me because I was seeing the seedheads pecked open by birds, probably finches. Since I allow my wildlife to vote for what they want more of, I figured I should at least make a try for these. I got quite a large amount, probably a cup or more. The envelope barely closes. It will be interesting to see if they sprout next year.
As it is getting dark, I am done for the night.
