Today is mostly sunny, humid, and warm. We got a good soaking rain last night.
I fed the birds. I've seen a flock of house finches, a lady cardinal, a mourning dove, and a fox squirrel.
EDIT 7/28/24 -- I planted 8 naked lady bulbs: 1 at the end of the old fishpond, 1 in the wagonwheel garden, 2 by the barrel garden, 2 in the purple-and-white garden, and 2 under the maple tree.
Two gladioli are blooming in the telephone pole garden: one red with white edges, one pink with white throat.
EDIT 7/28/24 -- I broke up branches in the ritual meadow and threw them in the firepit.
EDIT 7/28/24 -- I did a bit of work on the patio.
EDIT 7/28/24 -- I picked 1 yellow pear and 1 red cherry tomato. A red zinnia is blooming in the septic garden. :D
EDIT 7/28/24 -- I sowed some blue and yellow false indigo in the prairie garden. It is a nitrogen fixer and insectary plant.
I saw 2 bats swooping around the edges of the yard. One circled me, inches away, so close that I could see its body was lighter brown than its wings. :D
As it is now dark, I am done for the night.
