Birdfeeding
Aug. 26th, 2023 04:17 pmToday is partly cloudy and quite warm, though not as hot as recent days. We got a good soaking rain last night, so I don't need to water anything.
I fed the birds. I've seen a few house finches.
There's a new zinnia blooming rusty orange in the septic garden, and another sunflower head is about to open. My garlic chives are positively swarming with insects. One of the cypress vine flowers bloomed white. I bought the red kind, because I shop for hummingbirds, but the seeds are available in white and pink versions also.
EDIT 8/26/23 -- I picked up a trolley of sticks and dumped it in the firepit.
The first of the sunchokes and thistles are blooming in the prairie garden.
