Birdfeeding

Today is sunny and mild, a beautiful spring day. :D I fed the birds and put out water for them. I've seen several sparrows, several mourning doves, a male house finch, a robin, a blackbird, and a fox squirrel. We hauled 2 bags of compost from the car to the picnic table. Lily of the valley is blooming along the north edge of the house, and it smells very sweet. :D Purple alliums are beginning to bloom in the purple-and-white garden. EDIT 5/3/23 -- I dug some weeds out of the septic garden. EDIT 5/3/23 -- I put some compost by the septic cap and planted cypress vine. This is a huge favorite with hummingbirds. EDIT 5/3/23 -- I dug grass out from around the support wire for the telephone pole. EDIT 5/3/23 -- I spread compost around the support wire and planted cypress vine there. EDIT 5/3/23 -- I dug weeds from the flowerbed near the telephone pole. White feather hosta is sprouting in the forest garden.
