Birdfeeding

Today is partly sunny, humid, and mild.  It drizzled for a few minutes earlier, just enough to wet the grass.

I fed the birds.  I've seen a flock of house finches and a mourning dove.

I put out water for the birds and watered a few plants.

EDIT 8/17/24 -- I planted 2 purple-and-yellow 'Megabucks' irises and 2 solid orange 'Orange King' irises under the big maple tree near the picnic table.

EDIT 8/17/24 -- I spread topsoil around the newly planted irises.

EDIT 8/17/24 -- I spread mulch around the newly planted irises.  Bag 2 is done!  \o/

 

I've seen a male cardinal at the fly-through feeder.

 

EDIT 8/17/24 -- I watered the new irises, patio plants, picnic table, septic garden, telephone pole garden, and grass patch.

 

I did a bit of work around the patio.

 

Cicadas and crickets are singing.  Fireflies are coming out.

 

I saw two bats swooping over the house yard.

 

As it is now dark, I am done for the night.
