Birdfeeding

Today is partly sunny and mild, a beautiful summer day.

I haven't fed the birds yet.  I've seen a huge flock of house finches, two mourning doves, a gray catbird, and a fox squirrel.  The squirrel had eaten most of the half-cob of corn that's been hanging in the forest garden for months, then knocked it to the ground.  I'll need to hang another cob.

I trimmed around the goddess garden, since my partner Doug plans to mow later this afternoon.  The thyme is blooming there, tiny flowers of white or pale pink  :D  I think it's mostly mother-of-thyme, creeping thyme, English thyme, and there might be a lemon or two left.

EDIT 8/11/24 -- I fed the birds.  I put up a fresh corn cob, and wedged the old one in a forked branch.

I put out water for the birds.  The metal birdbath needs refilling more often now that the house finches are splashing around in it.

EDIT 8/11/24 -- I pulled weeds around the purple-and-white garden.

EDIT 8/11/24 -- I watered the patio plants, picnic table, and septic garden.  I picked 5 yellow pear tomatoes.  The first Gypsy peppers are showing on the plant.  :D
