Today is sunny and warm. It stormed last night, more thunder and lightning than rain, but still enough rain to leave puddles. The grass is still a bit damp, but I can work around that.
I fed the birds. The hopper feeder was almost empty. I've seen several house finches. I've heard house wrens and a blue jay, but did't see either of those.
More dianthus pinks are blooming from last year in pots, now a pink-and-white in addition to the dark pink. Pink bergamot is blooming in the strip garden.
EDIT 5/5/24: I planted a blanket flower in the wildflower garden.
Some other white flower is blooming in the wildflower garden. A red poppy is blooming near the driveway.
EDIT 5/5/24: I planted a pink Wave petunia in the barrel garden and a yellow 'Lady Charlize' coreopsis in the wildflower garden.
I've seen a green tiger beetle on the woodpile and a pair of goldfinches on the thistle sock. :D Such pretty colors!
EDIT 5/5/24: I took some pictures of new flowers.
EDIT 5/5/24: I planted 2 bush cucumbers in pots on the picnic table, each surrounded by 4 orange marigolds. Then I realized that I should've bought way more marigolds, because I still have 2 more bush cucumbers and a sweet pepper to pot up.
Tractors are out plowing the field across the street.
EDIT 5/5/24: I planted the remaining bush cucumbers in pots on the patio, and the 'Gypsy' sweet pepper in a pot on the picnic table. I planted the 'June' hosta at the edge of the forest garden; this one has yellow-green leaves with green edges. I also discovered a columbine growing down there. :D I planted the 'Patriot' hosta in the purple-and-white garden; this one has green leaves with white edges.
EDIT 5/5/24: I planted 5 coleus in the big grapevine pot, then divided the other 4 into two smaller pots.
I saw a gray catbird at the hopper feeder.
EDIT 5/5/24: I planted 4 snapdragons in two small pots.
Bees have been visiting the flowers today. :D
EDIT 5/5/24: I watered the plants.
Killdeer are squealing in the fields.
Someone southwest of us has a bonfire going, visible near the horizon.
As it is now dark, I am done for the night.
