It's cold!
Jan. 12th, 2024 04:50 pm It is blustery and very cold today. Will be worse over the weekend (the high tomorrow is 1F/-17C).
I'm seeing a lot of birds in the yard, as I have snacks, water, and a nice hedge they like to hide in. The suet is being used but I haven't seen the woodpeckers. I also put out an orange (cut in half, stuck on the fence).
I have specifically seen: sparrows, dark-eyed juncos, bluejays, cardinals, mourning doves.

Peak of cold here is beginning of the week. Good time to have the suet out.

That sounds great.

Pretty!
Most of what I'm getting currently is sparrows and cardinals.

Date: 2024-01-21 08:33 pm (UTC)Lucky you! I've never seen those two in the same time period, but sometimes one or the other would be around while downies were also around.

Maybe? Sparrows, nuthatches, wrens, and many other birds will eat suet.
