Birdfeeding

Today is sunny, breezy, and cool.

I fed the birds.  I've seen several sparrows and house finches.  I also saw the hummingbird again, this time around the barrel garden (which is all hot-colored flowers including a pineapple mint and lantana that hummingbirds love) and I caught the flash of red throat so this is a boy.  :D

I put out water for the birds. 

EDIT 5/25/23 -- I sowed Nasturtium Gleam Mix, Borage, and Green Sorrel in pots.

I've seen a fox squirrel on the hopper feeder.

EDIT 5/25/23 -- I sowed feverfew and Edible Flower Seed Mix in pots.

EDIT 5/25/23 -- I sowed more Edible Flower Seed Mix in pots, plus moonflower and cypress vine in the ground.

EDIT 5/25/23 -- I watered plants.

I've seen a pair of cardinals.

EDIT 5/25/23 -- I watered more plants.

As it is now dark, I am done for the night.

I love nasturtiums. So cheerful. I planted a variegated leaf with red flower type this year, they're coming up nicely.

I love them too. They're actually edible -- some people like the peppery leaves and flowers in salads.

I've seen variegated ones a few times but haven't grown any yet. I'd like to try them.

I eat them in a sort of caprese salad as well.

That's a good idea. The flowers can even be stuffed!
